Meet Jillian

BIRTH DOULA

Jillian (she/her) moved to Nashville from Memphis in 2019. She has had the honor of being present for many nieces and nephews’ births, which has fostered her passion for birth work. After getting pregnant during the height of the pandemic and feeling isolated from her village, she was so grateful for the assistance of a doula during labor.

After giving birth, she decided to pursue the passion of birthwork and support others through their labor, delivery and postpartum. She firmly believes that everyone deserves to feel empowered and respected and hopes to help all birthing people have the birth that they desire. She is trained as both a birth and postpartum doula and is working towards certification with DONA International.

In her free time, she can be found drinking coffee, reading a good book, watching reality TV or playing outside with her son Asher and three-legged Great Dane, Molly.

“I was able to have the birth I wanted, in large part due to Jillian’s calm, affirming, and informed presence.”

The support Jillian provided both me and my husband before, during and after our daughter’s birth was invaluable. She provided insight when reviewing our birth plan that enabled us to ask the right questions of our care providers. During labor, she was able to encourage and validate me as well as physically support me with counter-pressure and position suggestions. I also truly enjoyed being able to discuss my daughter’s birth at our postpartum visit. I was able to have the birth I wanted, in large part due to Jillian’s calm, affirming, and informed presence.
