Meet EMA
Ema (she/her) was born in Europe and moved to the U.S. when she was five years old. She grew up in Chicago with her very large, extended family. She received her education in Business Marketing and Management. Before embarking on her advertising career, Ema returned to eastern Europe where she volunteered with young women, helping them establish a new life outside of the orphanages many of them were raised in. Upon returning to the States, she moved to California, got married, and had two wonderful births there. Ema and her family settled in Nashville in 2016 after adventuring through the U.S. in an RV. Shortly after, she had the joy of experiencing the birth of her third child.
Ema's path into motherhood was paved with feelings of fear, concern, and doubt. This propelled her to immerse herself in educating, preparing, and finding support to sustain her through the vulnerable and intimate processes of pregnancy and birth. She was amazed to find strength, courage, overwhelming empowerment, and healing through her births. This awoke her passion for becoming a doula. She wanted to offer pregnant people the opportunity for the self-discovery and growth that an empowered birth makes possible. She is certified as a birth doula through the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA).
Ema brings a grounded strength, coupled with a compassionate and tender heart, to each family she serves. She's a natural community builder and has a deep love for cultivating and sustaining rich relationships. Ema believes that with the right support and education, pregnant people can truly have beautiful birth stories, and she loves being a part of that journey with families.
When Ema isn't serving as a birth doula, she can be found delighting in her kids, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, exploring nature through hikes, bike rides and long walks, discovering new places, people, and cultures through travel, or simply enjoying the sweet company of friends and family.
